Adenovirus (nonenveloped virus)
Human adenovirus is a nonenveloped virus having the form of an icosahedral capsid (spherical shape), and belongs to the Adenoviridae family.
Adenovirus often affects the respiratory tract (influenzal infection) or the eye (conjunctivitis). In severe cases, it may cause life-threatening diarrhoea (in infants) or pneumonia.
Main transmission path is direct or indirect contact with contaminated persons or objects, and via droplets and particles in the air.
