Burkholderia cepacia

Burkholderia cepacia is an aerobic, Gram-negative, rod-shaped bacterium with flagella. The germ belongs to the family of Burkholderiaceae. Burkholderia cepacia may lead to respiratory tract infection and catheter-associated urinary tract infection. MDR (multidrug resistance): the bacterium has an extensive resistance to many antibiotics such as aminoglycosides and polymyxin B.
The transmission path is direct or indirect contact with contaminated persons or objects.
