Norovirus
(nonenveloped virus)

Norovirus is a nonenveloped virus having the shape of an icosahedral capsid (spherical shape), belonging to the Caliciviridae family. It is a common pathogen of gastroenteritis.

Particularly hospitals (geriatrics) and geriatric/nursing homes are concerned by endemic norovirus infections.

The main transmission path is direct or indirect contact with contaminated persons or objects.
